Service in the Parish House
January 24 at 10 a.m.
~ Please bring Toothbrushes and Toothpaste to the service ~
T his coming Sunday holds a worship service not to be missed.
Children and adults alike are invited to come at 10 AM to the Parish House, to hear and learn and enjoy the stories of our Common Hope Vision Team, who spent memorable time this past October in Antigua, Guatemala building, teaching, and connecting with children who have been sponsored by so many generous individuals and families in this parish. Team members met with their families and saw in the eyes of the children and their unfolding stories the positive difference that this outreach has made over the years. For a preview of their work, visit www.commonhope.okrg/volunteernetwork.
Please bring with you some toothbrushes and toothpaste to share with our Guatemalan neighbors! Child care will be provided for our youngest.
I know this is my “Sunday off,” but I can’t miss this service, so I look forward to joining you. Come and enjoy!
With love and anticipation,
Jan
Haiti – First Parish responds!
The full non-pledge plate offering from last Sunday and this coming Sunday are dedicated to the UUSC/UUA Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Thanks to the decision of our Outreach Committee, this fund will also be the recipient of our 25% non-pledge plate offerings from February through August. Grounded in the decades old justice work of our UUSC, which partners with grassroots organizations in the venue of a disaster, this fund will reach the most marginalized of our Haitian neighbors and will complement the massive aid programs launched by larger emergency response organizations. To learn more visit www.uusc.org or pick up a flyer at the entrance to the Parish House.
Guest at Your Table Gifts Deadline extended to January 31st!
With the disaster of the earthquake in Haiti, we wanted to respond immediately by doing whatever we can to help. Our contributions to the relief fund described above matter mightily. In the meantime, the many ministries of our Unitarian Universalist Service Committee are supported through the Guest at Your Table campaign, launched in early December. By the end of January, please bring to Sandy’s office in the Parish House the funds you have fed to the foldable cardboard box you received then. You may want to convert them into a check payable to the UUSC. Envelopes are available at the entrance of our Parish House to insert your check and specify that you’re a member or friend of First Parish UU in Cohasset. To learn more, visit www.uusc.org.
Thanks in advance for your generosity!

Ushers & Coffee Hours Hosts needed for late January & February!
We need you! There are blanks for ushers & flowers for Sunday, January 31, and the Sundays of February 7 and 14 and for coffee hour hosts on the Sundays of February 7 and 14. These are enjoyable ways to make folks feel welcome. Ushering just means getting to church at about 9:40 AM, reading all the usher directions, and putting on your top of the morning sunshine smile as you extend your hand to worshippers. Coffee hour hosting also comes with directions. If you can provide any of this hospitality, please phone Sandy at the Parish House ASAP (781-383-1100).
