Religious Education for Sunday, January 10

MULTI-GENERATIONAL SEGMENT OF WORSHIP SERVICE
Beginning this Sunday, January 10th, the RE program will begin each Sunday in the Meeting House with a multi-generational segment of worship service.  All youngsters participating in religious education classes are welcome to join us from 10:00 am to 10:15 am to start off their Sunday morning with prayer, music, and reflection as an entire spiritual faith community.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

 Grades Pre-K through 2nd

THE CASTLE ON VIOLA STREET
This Sunday, our Pre-K through 2nd grade classes will continue their UU identity unit with a social justice lesson based on a story about Habitat for Humanity.  Parish youngsters from Pre-K through 2nd grade are invited to join us this Sunday from 10:20 am to 11:00 am for this lesson that teaches the best way to achieve true wealth begins with giving to others.

 

Grades 3rd through 6th

 
FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT   

This Sunday, our 3rd – 6th grade class will continue their UU identity unit with Spirit of Adventure – an engaging UU identity curriculum.  Parish youngsters from 3rd through 6th grade are invited to join us this Sunday from 10:20 am to 11:00 am for a lesson that combines our value of science and the UU values that inspired Frank Lloyd Wright.

 

Grades 7th & 8th


OUR WHOLE LIVES PROGRAM
7th & 8th graders enrolled in the Our Whole Lives program will continue meeting this Sunday morning from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Scituate.  Parents are asked to have youth at the church by 9:45 am so that the class can begin and end on time.

 Grades 9th through 12th

 SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

Youth group facilitators from First Parish UU in Cohasset and First Parish UU in Scituate are planning the January youth group activity using the feedback our youth offerred at the last youth group meeting.  Stay tuned for details!

 CLOSING WORSHIP CIRCLE 

All youngsters participating in the RE program this Sunday will gather in the Atkinson room for closing worship circle at the conclusion of their RE classes.  From 11:00 am to 11:15 am, children and RE teachers will light the chalice, share their joys and concerns, and review the Unitarian Universalist principles.  Once our worship circle has concluded, children will be dismissed into coffee hour to meet up with their parents/guardians.  As always, all are welcome.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

A TAKE APART PARTY

This Sunday, our 3rd – 6th grade class will continue their UU identity unit with an innovative lesson from Spirit of Adventure – an engaging UU identity curriculum.  Parish youngsters from 3rd through 6th grade are invited to join us this Sunday from 10:20 am to 11:00 am for this lesson that combines our value of science and the adage “it is what’s inside that counts!”

Grades 7th & 8th

OUR WHOLE LIVES PROGRAM
7th & 8th graders enrolled in the Our Whole Lives program will continue meeting this Sunday morning from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Scituate.  Parents are asked to have youth at the church by 9:45 am so that the class can begin and end on time.

Grades 9th through 12th

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

Youth from First Parish UU in Cohasset and First Parish UU in Scituate will meet this Sunday, January 3rd from 12:30 – 1:45 pm at First Parish UU in Scituate’s Old Sloop Room to shape the youth group teens want as we move forward.  In mid-December, teens decided youth group should be both social and engaging in various social justice projects.  This Sunday, youth and their advisors will decide what to focus on for the rest of this church school year.  Decisions are made by those who show up!  All are most welcome!

OPENING WORSHIP CIRCLE

All youngsters participating in religious education classes are welcome to join our opening worship circle from 10:00am to 10:15am in the Atkinson Room.  Our gathering this Sunday will include rehearsing the children’s holiday choir song to be performed at our December 20th holiday service.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

This Sunday, Sarah Borek & Kristen Winikoff will lead a One Room Schoolhouse where youngsters from Pre-K through 6th grade are invited to put their artistic gifts into action as we continue preparation for our December 20th holiday service pageant.

GRADES: 7 and 8

Youth from First Parish UU in Cohasset and First Parish UU in Scituate will meet this Saturday, December 12th from 12:00 – 3:00 pm to engage in a community service project.  9th-12th graders and 7th and 8th grade youth are invited to participate in a Scituate Community Christmas – organizing and wrapping presents for families in need this holiday season.  We’ll meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall (located at 234 Chief Justice Cushing Way in Scituate).  We’ll conclude our volunteer work with donuts and discussion at Dunkin Donuts on the Driftway.  For more information, contact Laura Carson-Laciner at Laura@laciner.com.  Rides provided upon request.  All are welcome!
